About me

Originally from Queensland, Australia, chef Lisa Mead has spent the past 27 years cooking between Australia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

She has created Epicurean delights for all walks of life including royalty, heads of state and celebrities onboard luxury yachts, in 5 star villas and Restaurants.

In addition to her time spent living in South East Asia, where she gained valuable experience with the local cuisine, if asked Lisa would describe her cooking as Global, pulling from different cultures, using only the freshest of ingredients.

Currently Lisa is being filmed in her own cooking show as chef and host of a series titled: “Galley Gourmet With Chef Lisa”.

You’d need to have eaten it to know just how delicious the dinner Chef Lisa cooked for us. Dealing with limitations of no red meat , low carbohydrate and gluten – free. Her wild barramundi fish delicately served on ribbons of carrot and zucchini with a swirl of parsnip puree and a drizzle of salt bush, miso sauce was spectacular. And her flourless dark chocolate cake with edible flowers and mixed berry coulis was like a party in our mouths.

For the past 26 years, I have worked on creating recipes that are quick and easy to prepare in the confines of the galley’s I have cheffed in, limited to time due to ever-changing weather conditions on the sea, while still capturing the quality and presentation of a fine dining restaurant dish.

My cookbook highlights favourites of my yacht charter guests over the years. With 80 recipes all with accompanying colour images. If asked to describe my cuisine, I would say – Global, I have been lucky enough to have travelled and worked extensively all over the world, there is most definitely something for everyone, I showcase the flavours of South East Asia, the Mediterranean, The Caribbean, Mexico and North America to name a few. I have also made sure to add special dietary-related recipes.

I am a firm believer in sourcing local produce and ingredients, nothing beats those fresh delicious flavours.
